Every R&D study starts the same way: a pile of client exports in a dozen different formats. Payroll that doesn't match the time tracker. W-2s that don't line up with the project logs. Junior staff burning days on spreadsheet archaeology before the real analysis can even begin.
After 20+ years and 750+ studies for software, technology, and advanced-engineering firms, we knew that scramble cold — because we lived it on every engagement. So we built the software we always wanted: something that takes whatever the client sends and turns it into a clean, consistent dataset our team could actually work with.
That tool became Data Wrangler. It pairs AI that does the tedious first pass — parsing, mapping, and matching thousands of rows — with the expert judgment that R&D work demands. Human expertise, AI assistance. Now we're opening it up to other firms and CPAs who face the same headache.
